SITE_REVIEW	There's some astonishingly good new flamenco on this record -- a simple listen to tracks like "Gitano Puro" or "La Tendera" can reassure anyone that this is very much the real deal. Linaje - Flamenco, the debut by singer Juaneke, sparkles with life -- sometimes spiky and slightly awkward -- but always full of passion. His foil, guitar player Juan Gomez Chicuelo, is in stunning form throughout the disc (except for the last cut, where he's absent), with a great deal of invention at his fingertips. This might not be quite as hardcore as some of the more traditional flamenco -- there are certainly nods toward the nueva flamenco developments of the last few decades, without ever diluting the record's feel -- but it's still very authentic, aimed more at the clubs where the music still thrives, rather than the concert halls. Juaneke wrote much of the material here, showing great ability in that direction, while his rough-edged voice is perfectly suited to this music. The spare rhythmic accompaniment (usually "palmas" or clapping) and the use of a chorus fills out the sound without overwhelming the two stars. And on the final cut, "Libre Como El Viento," Juaneke proves to be a more than adequate guitarist himself. All in all, a stunning debut from a remarkable talent ~ Chris Nickson, All Music Guide
