SITE_REVIEW	The songs on this CD come from a period in the Wedding Present's career that most fans' would admit to be less than inspirational. The frenzied jangle of their early days had slowed considerably and the frustrated growl and unrelenting mope of the classic Seamonsters LP had been replaced by a seemingly blasé attitude and even worse, a spot of light-heartedness here and there. Basically, David Gedge and his mates seemed to have lost the plot. Well, that may have been the case on the records released at the time but when the band entered the BBC studios it was a different story. The songs that just lay there on the records come to life full of all the fire and imagination of their better songs from the earlier albums. The guitars are loud and angry, the tempos are more insistent and Gedge sings it like he means it. It doesn't hurt that this CD is made up of most of the good songs the band recorded during those three years. They also deliver an absolutely storming version of Paul Revere & the Raiders' classic Him or Me (What's it Gonna Be?) Heartbreak, anger, bitterness, and loud guitars. That is what the Wedding Present are all about and that is what they deliver here. ~ Tim Sendra , All Music Guide
